                                             NOTICE.

                 NOTICE is hereby given that EDWAKL BRANDIS
              DENHAM, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of
               Saint Michael and Saint George, the Senior Member of the
               Executive Council has, by virtue of the provisions of the
               Letters Patent passed under the Great Seal of the United
               Kingdom constituting the office of Governor and Commander-
               in-Chief of the Colony of Kenya and providing for the
               Government thereof, to-day assumed the administrationof the
               Government of the Colony on the death of His Excellency the
               Governor, Sir Robert Thorne Coryndon, K.C.M.G., and has
               taken the prescribed oaths.
