AND CEMENT COMPANY LIMITED (BAMBURI F ACTORY) BILL UNTO the Honourible The Legislative Council of the Colony and Protectorate ot Kenya in Ccuncil assembled The Humble Petition of the Britist Standard Portland Cement Company Limited a Limited Liability Company in- corporated in the Colony of Kenya aid whose registered office 1s situate at Sadler House, Sadler { treet, in the City of Nairobi in the said Col ny showeth as follows — 1 That your Petitioner has applied o the Crown for the grant of a Lease of various lands and iereditaments in the said Colony and Protecttrate of Kenya «ituate near Bamburt in the Coast Province o' the said Colony and Protectorate 2 That your Petitioner has appliec for the grant of a Lease for 99 years of the said lands for the purposes of excavation of coral rock and shale for the manufacture of Portland Cement and for tre erection of 2 cement factory and its ancillary buildings 3 That your Petitimer has agreed with the Crown that within fours years from the commencement of the said grant your Petitioner will produce a mmimum output of Cement of 10,000 tons in each year an1 that such ot tput will be mcreased by 10 000 tons in each veal until a minirium output of 50,000 tons of Cement per annum 1s obtained 4 That your Petittornr has agreed with the Crown that all factory buildings will be erected to conform with an approved design and that all the requrements of the local Health Authorities will be complied witli and fulfilled 5 That your Pet timer 1s aware of ihe necessity for regular and adequate supplies of cemer t being obtainable in the Colony and Prote.torate of Kenya and desires to com- mence production at at early date in an endeavour to meet the demand for cement 2attsed by the de velopment of the said Colony 6 That it 1s expedient in the pubic mterest and in the interests of the developnient of the said Colony and Pro- tectorate that the powers «nd immunities coritained in the Bill hereunto annexed should be conferred on your Petitioner 7 That the objects of the said Fill cannot be effected without the authority of the Legislative Council,
