                    GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 429
                                       THE CONSTITUTION OF KENYA
                                      THE SENATE STANDING ORDERS
                                        SPECIAL SITTINGS OF THE SENATE
                        NOTICE is given to all Senators that pursuant to Standing Order 30
                    (1) of the Senate Standing Orders, on the request of the Senate Majority
                    Leader, with the support of the requisite number of Senators, I have
                    appointed Tuesday, 25th January, 2022, Wednesday, 26th January, 2022
                    and Thursday, 27th January, 2022 as days for special sittings of the
                    Senate. The sittings shall be held at the Senate Chamber, Main Parliament
                    Buildings, Nairobi.
                    The sittings shall be held as follows—
                       (a) on Tuesday, 25th January, 2022 and Wednesday, 26th January,
                           2022, the sittings shall commence at 2.30 p.m.; and
                       (b) on Thursday, 27th January, 2022, the morning sitting shall
                           commence at 10.00 a.m., while the afternoon sitting shall
                           commence at 2.30 p.m.
                    The business to be transacted at the sittings shall be the consideration of—
                       (a) the Political Parties (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bills
                           No. 56 of 2021);
                       (b) the Heritage and Museums Bill (Senate Bills No. 22 of 2021);
                       (c) the County Governments (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No. 38
                           of 2021);
                       (d) the Intergovernmental Relations (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills
                           No. 37 of 2021); and
                       (e) the County Oversight and Accountability Bill (Senate Bills No. 17
                           of 2021).
                        In accordance with Standing Order 30 (5) of the Senate Standing
                    Orders, the business specified in this notice shall be the only business
                    before the Senate during the special sittings, following which the Senate
                    shall stand adjourned until Tuesday, 8th February, 2022 at 2.30 p.m., in
                    accordance with the Senate Calendar.
