                                       THE CONSTITUTION OF KENYA
                               THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STANDING ORDERS
                      NOTIFICATION OF THE SPECIAL SITTING OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
                          PURSUANT to the provisions of Standing Order 29 (3) of the
                    Standing Orders of the National Assembly, it is notified for the
                    information of the Members of the National Assembly and the general
                    public that a special sitting of the Assembly shall be held on Wednesday,
                    27th April, 2022 (Afternoon) commencing at 2.30 p.m. in the National
                    Assembly Chamber, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, for purposes of
                    transacting the following exceptional business—
                         (a)    Procedural notification to the assembled House of the demise
                                of the Third President of the Republic of Kenya, His
                                Excellency Hon. Emilio Mwai Kibaki, C.G.H.; and,
                         (b)    Exceptional Motion on Honour and Tributes of the House to
                                the late Third President of the Republic of Kenya, His
                                Excellency Hon. Emilio Mwai Kibaki, C.G.H., following the
                                Presidential Proclamation of 22nd April, 2022 regarding his
                                demise.
                    The Order Paper for the said Special Sitting will be available in the Office
                    of the Clerk of the National Assembly and will also be published on the
                    Parliamentary Website.
