                         DECREE 1966




                                   Decree No. 47

       WHEREASI, Major-GENnERAL JQHNSON THOMAS UMUNAKWE AGUIYI-
 IRoNsI, Head of the National Military Government, Supreme Commanderof
 the ArmedForces,am satisfied that the arrest and the detention ofthe persons
 specified in the Schedule hereto as at the date hereof are in the interest of
 the security of Nigeria and it is expedient to make this Decree accordingly :

       NOW THEREFORETHE NATIONAL MILITARY GOVERNMENT
 hereby decrees that—
       1, The persohsso specified shall be detained for a period not exceeding               Power to

       2. The provisions of sections 2 to 6 of the State Security (Detention of             _ Application
Persons) Decree 1966 (which inter alia provide for representations by persons                 of certain

provisions of the Constitution of the Federation) shall apply to this Decree as              Security
